Club Works With Pritts
Some of the members of the West Broward Falcons Wrestling Club had the opportunity to work with one of the top wrestlers to ever come out of Broward County and the State of Florida. Lee Pritts, 2x State Champion, NCAA All-American, and Assistant Coach at The University of Missouri, gave a clinic and seminar at Osceola High School May 8th-11th to help enrich the wrestlers in this state. IKDA, MOBY, Werne, ans Dakota spent the weekend learning several different teqniques, what hard work can do, and what kinds of things universities are looking for in a wrestler. The days were long, but these guys worked hard and learned some things that they will teach to others at club. It was a great trip and hopefully we will be able to attend more camps in the future. I would like to thank Coaches Byrd and Tridbit at Osceola HS and Lee Pritts for putting on a great event. |

High School Season Ends
In the past, the end of the Flanagan High School wrestling season would signify the end of some wrestling careers and the hope that the men would return for another season. THAT WAS IN THE PAST!!! This year the coaches are eagerly waiting for next season to come, as the team will return at least 10 wrestlers to a team that won more matches this year than in the previous 4 years combined. Looking to build on this success and surpass it, each individual wrestler has decided to make a commitment to himself to work hard this offseason and become the best he can be. This includes coming to wrestling club 3 days a week from 5-7 pm in the aerobics room. This club is open to all ages and any wrestler from any school provided they have a USA card. This club has had several state qualifiers and placers come through the ranks in its short existence and the men of Flanagan know that this is how they will get better. With personal goals set high and a standard of excellence second to none, The future seems bright for next year and the years to come. The FHSAA next year decided to reclassify schools and our district will be headed into the toughest region in the state, Miami-Dade. Unlike most people in the sport, Flanagan is looking forward to the challenge. The men have wrestled most of the Dade powerhouses and other teams throughout the state. This continuous competition over the years has made us more of a Dade team then a Broward team. And with that mentality, we are right where we belong.
